This one has amazing drawing tools but it's very buggy. They're not worth having.ДЄnother favorite program of mine that I use strictly for drawing is Serif DrawPlus. In the sub $100.00 range, none can stay on my hard drive for more than a couple minutes.

I've used a every other software I could find. I spend 5 or 6 hours straight, tons of layers with masks, 'stocked selections' (like Channels in Photoshop), materials, groups and my docs are 20' because I'm mainly doing t-shirt art. But Manga Studio 5 is as high quality as Photoshop. Photoshop is such an extremely high quality program that literally nothing not made by Adobe is impressive. I've been using Photoshop professionally for over 20 years so getting impressed by a $80.00 program is a revelation. Not only that, but some of the things that you do constantly in Photoshop like working with selections and coloring are also better in Manga Studio.ДЇor me, Manga Studio is a game changer. And for drawing and comic creation, Manga Studio beats Photoshop to a pulp. Corel's Painter is better at painting than Photoshop and so is ArtRage. Having said that, there are program that are specialized in doing some limited things and those programs are better than Photoshop for those limited things. This is the closest program to Photoshop, but it's about 15 years behind Photoshop in terms of development. That's because it's no longer sold as a standalone product. There's only one other program that is 'similar' to Photoshop. And not because of any preference, but because it is a million miles better than anything else. The reason people say Photoshop is best is because it really is. So that's my two cents worth hope it helps So work hard and Draw Harder! Reply I use Photoshop 7 for flatting and coloring and its still what most comic artists I know still use for those things and its really cheap! That being said, If your doing comics go for MS 5 if your doing other things then go for Photoshop you can find cheaper versions of it online ebay etc. I also use a Huion tablet and its been better that my intuios 3 and it was damn cheap just bought some extra nibs and the pen with a charger and its been a dream.

Lastly I find myself using Sketchbook Pro 6 more and more and I think I might try using it with the 3rd Vol of my series just that alone because its just so damn fun. My covers I use Corel Painter because I Love the textures I can achieve. Everyone has some good input and opinions I use 4 different tools for my process I start by doing page layouts by hand on 8/ 1/2 by 11 scan into Manga studio 5 do clean-ups, corrections, inks add in perspectives and what not then save move to Photoshop 7 (even though I have CS6) for flatting and colors, I have lots of brushes various plug ins that I use that make coloring faster for me.
